Please join us in congratulating our head school nurse, Lynn Owen, who was selected to be the focus of a television program as part of “Classroom Close-up NJ.”  This acclaimed television program promotes the great things happening in New Jersey’s public schools.  The segment, recorded recently at Van Sciver, will focus on Mrs. Owen and the diverse role of a school nurse.

The segment will air on June 25, July 2, and September 24 on NJ TV at 7:30am,12:30pm, and 7:30pm.  Comcast Channel 23 or 800; Verizon Channel 23 or 523. On June 26th, the full show will be available to view and download on www.classroomcloseup.org .

We are proud of Mrs. Owen and excited to highlight the valued role of a school nurse along with the wonderful opportunity to showcase our school district!

Boys Track
After going undefeated in the Colonial Conference Patriot Division the boys track team won a South Jersey sectional title on Saturday in dramatic fashion.  The clinching event, the 4 x 400 relay placed 4th two places ahead of Shalick to win the title.   The win was the epitome of a total team effort with 8 different athletes scoring, on the track, in the field, and in the jumps.

Volleyball Tournament
The students of HT, under the guidance of Mrs. Frasco, raised over $550 for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia by hosting a volleyball tournament. Student teams and a few faculty teams had a great time playing in the single elimination tournament. Your winners were the faculty team of McDermott, Wister, Tomashek, Datz, Chard, Vernon and Green. Pictured below are the 2 teams from the championship game. Better luck next time to Team Chardzard!

Honor Society Hour of Code

Students from the Haddon Township High School Honor Society visited Stoy School to teach coding.  Through their lessons, students were exposed to different technologies to learn about writing instructions for a computer to follow.  The process of coding requires students to use persistence to refine sequential steps to solve problems.   Students sat together engaged in cooperative learning, problem solving, critical thinking, and processing skills.   It was inspiring to see students of such varied ages engaged in thinking and learning together.  We are so grateful to the high school students for their expertise and teaching today.

GREAT NEWS!
Haddon Township School District named to 7th Annual AP District Honor Roll!
