Principal Gary O’Brien, Student Council Advisor- Paul Turkot along with Student Council Community Service Coordinator-Regan Dougherty & Secretary Cara Dougherty, met with The Jeannette Family, Bernadette A. Shanahan Executive Director Boys & Girls Club of Camden County and Father John Stabeno from The Prodigal House Foundation to support their programs with a donation from the Nick Jeannette Memorial Three-on-Three Basketball Tournament to Increase Opiate Awareness.
Students from the Haddon Township High School Honor Society visited Stoy School to teach coding. Through their lessons, students were exposed to different technologies to learn about writing instructions for a computer to follow. The process of coding requires students to use persistence to refine sequential steps to solve problems. Students sat together engaged in cooperative learning, problem solving, critical thinking, and processing skills. It was inspiring to see students of such varied ages engaged in thinking and learning together. We are so grateful to the high school students for their expertise and teaching today.
