The Visual & Performing Arts Guild is the “booster club” for all Haddon Township Arts students. This includes students who are enrolled in art, chorus or any band activity along with the extracurricular drama, musical, stage and costume crews.
Since its inception, the VPAG has given both volunteer and financial support for the arts to provide things that can't be accommodated by the regular school budget. The Guild has a General Operating Fund, a Shannon Newell Memorial Fund and a Sandra Marr Scholarship Fund. The money for these accounts is raised primarily through the sale of refreshments at multiple performing arts events as well as the Spring Extravaganza and Broadway nights.
In addition to annual scholarships through both the general and the Sandra Marr Scholarship Funds, recent donations by the Guild include: the purchase of reserved seating tickets for the musical, several microphone systems and components, truck rental and chaperones for student trips, rental of lights for high school musicals, curtains for the HS auditorium, food for student performers at dress rehearsals, a piano, stage crew materials, supplies for Empty Bowls, an elementary school sound system, awards and trophies for multiple events, and support for the projects of various faculty members on behalf of students.
The Guild brings family and friends together to see our children's art! Parents can keep The Guild strong by volunteering and attending Guild meetings.
As you can see, The Guild is both active and profitable as it seeks to support the arts in the Haddon Township Public Schools - please join in on the fun!!
